POS0585 ORAL STATUS IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic auto immune inflammatory disorder, which primarily affects the synovial joints, but it may have an impact on oral health. Objectives: The present study aimed to describe manifestations in patients with (RA). Methods: A cross sectional including RApatients, consulted or were hospitalized Rheumatology department Taher Sfar Hospital of Mahdia Tunisia, during period 10 months. diagnosis RA was based ACR/EULAR 2010 criteria. Oral and periodontal examination practiced by trained dentist same hospital. hygiene, teeth status (missing teeth) paradental parameters (bleeding index Loe Silness (IG), plaque indexed O’Leary (IP) determined for each patient, assess diseases RA. Results: Our included 51 average age 51.11 years ±12.4 [21-74years].50patients (92.6%of cases) women 8patients (14.8%) diabetic. Only one patient smoker. mean duration 10.7 7.7± [10months-35years]. factor (RF) positive 25 Patients (46.3%of cases). Anti-citrullinated peptide antibody (ACPA) 32 (59.3 %).41patients (75.4%) had radiological impairments 28(51.9%) specific deformations disease activity score (DAS28-VS) (DAS28-CRP) respectively 4.1±1.5[1.4-7.3] 3.4±1.5 [1.24-6.71]. revealed poor hygiene 36patients (69.2% 4.7% our (2 toothless. Xerostomia observed (80%). Gingivitis diagnosed 26 (52%): localized 6 (26.1%) generalized 17 (73.9%). 21 periodontitis (41.2%). Basing bleeding (IG),27 (55.1%) degree 2 and9 (18.8 %) 3. Supragingival subgingival detected 45 (90 47 (95.9 %). In study, tooth loss significantly correlated increased (p=0.001) post-menopausal (p=0.03). Xerostomia, gingivitis associated age. But no association found between DAS28 nor biological parameters. Conclusion: destructive disabling rheumatism great risk develop dental diseases.
